A Great New Feature: Forcing Passing
The enhancement forum notes:
In addition to this soft limit we have also imposed a restriction on submitting new Site memberships if a user has one or more FAILing memberships. Properly functioning navigation is critical to the smooth functioning of any Ring. As a result we feel it is imperative that a member have all of his/her SIte memberships working before joining additional Rings.
This is pretty cool. I like this.
The system gives this message:
Sorry, according to system records you have a Site with FAILing navigation code. Correct navigation code is vital to the proper functioning of the Ring(s) you belong to. We need to you to correct the problem(s) with any Site membership(s) you have before proceeding to join additional Rings. Using the Navigation Code Wizard can be very helpful in determining why a membership is FAILing, and you can get the proper navigation code from the Navigation Code Wizard results page as well. We apologize for this delay in joining another Ring but we hope you understand the importance of working navigation code.
I'd have two suggestions:
1. Have a link to a list of failing sites. One great way to implement this would be to permit sorting of the ring sites list by "status". Then the link to the list of failing sites would just be a link to the ring sites list sorted by "status".
2. Since it appears that the system does NOT use a real time "calculation" of status in making this determination, provide a "recalculate" link to have the system rescan the members sites after the member has fixed them.
Thanks for the feature. Hope these suggestions help.
