Is Web Ring participation considered detrimental by so - 02/01/2005
I only view it badly when I run across a huge page of nothing but rings and I have to spend a lot of time waiting for the page to load. There are some pages that even lock up my browser whie they are loading! If the owner of such a page applied to my rings, I wouldn't approve them, no matter how great their site is. I avoid rings with lots of those pages like the plague. Other than that, I don't think there is anything detrimental about webring participation.

Only when the navigation code is customised to blatantly advertise the ringmaster's site or buisness... I loathe that and have left rings because of it...
