I guess I missed the point
I didn't join webring to make money. Back in the day, I thought webring was a way to link sites of common interest so that we could visit each other. I made my contribution to suppress ads. None of my websites ever made me a visible penny from webring visitors or those who joined through my rings. Many of the rings I once visited are no longer there. I'm sorry to lose friends, but I wish those with commercial enterprises well.
I think a lot of us missed it! I was the same - just wanted to link with others of similar mind - only ever created one new site and that's because there was not one like it in the directory. Adopted rings that matched my interests & beliefs - and yes, paid my $5 to remove ads. Also paid around $100 or so over the past 4 years to promote my rings and further suppress unwanted popups, etc. Made a few cents by having unique sites join - but that's all.
Must thank Webring though, they have now credited me the extra $$ I paid to move to a premium level. All I need now is a check for the remainder and we are quits!
God bless - and bye bye...
